The NTCs initiative was launched back in 2008 as part of a strategic partnership between Saudi Aramco and Technical & Vocational Training Corp. (TVTC) to build National Training Centers (NTCs) that would qualify young Saudis and provide employment opportunities for them in various industry sectors through a sponsorship scheme that provides training followed by employment. The NTCs provide a key platform that strengthens the impact of In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) through providing market tailored training to support workforce development, and directly contribute to Saudization.
Since the first establishment, the launch of Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP), the NTCs journey has been remarkable, 16 centers were established in 10 cities around the Kingdom, covering more than 60 trades, and bringing together in excess of 80 market leaders as contributing stakeholders from a wide range of industries including Petroleum Services, Drilling & Workover, Power, Construction, Maritime, IT, Inspection & Quality Control, Aviation, Hospitality & Facility Management, Finance and with a clear focus on the future role of Saudi Women, through a dedicated female academy, and the offering of vocational programs for Saudi females in many NTCs. Today, some of the NTCs that were established only a few years ago are gaining global recognition for the magnitude, quality, and impact of the services they are offering. The NTCs are on course to achieve 100,000 graduates by 2030.
